G8MZY.co.uk is one of Dave Cushman's Internet Resources

G8MZY is the amateur radio callsign of Dave Cushman, the suffix .co.uk was chosen for low cost reasons and does not imply any intention of trading.

David A. Cushman is my formal name, but I prefer to be known by the shortened name Dave. There are a couple of nicknames that I also answer to... 'Fat and Ugly' is one of them and my portly stature gave rise to that, but the second is not quite so widely known, it is 'Crazy Dave' and stems from an engraved callsign badge which is easily misread (at a distance) as 'crazy Dave'. The badge is illustrated here. I take no offence to either of these nicknames, which often act as an icebreaker when meeting people for the first time.

My health has been declining for many years and I have gravitated towards website design as my limitations have forced me to rest more and more. As a result I have been involved in many website projects to do with beekeeping, bee breeding and the various other interests that I have. I have written many thousands of web pages and as some of them are difficult to find, I have designed this website as a 'jumping off platform' in order to link to my other online resources and other people's websites that I believe to be of merit or interest. The technical and coding design of this website is also somewhat experimental, as indeed are many of my other websites, there are elements of layout that are recognisable from my previous work, but much of the code represents my latest thinking, based on making many mistakes in the past and the source code is freely available for anyone to copy or adapt.

It is ironic and accidental that I started out in web work on April 1st (all fools day) 2000 and that this index page is being written on April 1st 2007.
